Branding You and Your Home Based Business

We all know there are literally thousands of home based business opportunities to join today. It has been said that someone joins a business opportunity every 11 seconds! Can you imagine that?

With so much competition and so many opportunities out there, how can you be sure to succeed and really set your self apart from other business opportunities and representatives of the same company?

    The answer: Brand Yourself.

People now-a-days can learn, teach, and grow a business by themselves, but that isn’t most people. What can you do to attract other business builders/seekers to join up with you in your home based business opportunity? You have to sell YOURSELF, not your businesses. This way you can learn, teach, and grow together! Share with them who you are, what you stand for, what you can offer them, how you can support them, and most importantly whether or not you can bring them success in their business.

It happens so often, all the hype or buildup into a business opportunity yet no one is selling themselves. You need to work on your story, your views, and your willingness to help others succeed because ultimately it will come back to you!

Once you have branded yourself with the home based business seeker, the rest is cake. After you have sold yourself, the business comes naturally and people are eager to get started with you.

It doesn’t matter if you have the best home based business opportunity in the world; you have to be able to brand yourself with each and every person you bring in the business. It will carry your business so much further when you build relationships and network with people at a personal level rather than a business level.

So if you are really wanting to succeed in your the current or new business opportunities, work on developing your story for others to hear and get to know people on a real life level instead of wanting their money.

You brand yourself, you will brand your business in return, and the money will follow!

Great post Troy, there is definitely no way to deny that branding is what really sets the very successful apart from the somewhat successful in today’s world.

This is especially true in small businesses that otherwise might all “seem the same” to a customer. Good branding is the key to sticking out in a crowded field.

That is so true. So many people hide behind their websites and wonder why no body is buying anything. It is critical to the success of any business online or off to establish rapport, credibility, as well as accessibility to succeed.

How did you find the stat about someone signing up for Home Businesses every 11 seconds? That is amazing. I have never heard that, but it makes a lot of sense. Many unsatisfied people out there.

Yeah That’s true Troy. People nowadays are having business online. Building good relationship and network with the personal level is not easy but it it will give you a starting point to brand yourself and at the same time branding your business. You started with yourself and will end in boosting your earnings.

The best way to reach the masses (especially a younger audience) is to leverage social networking sites such as myspace, facebook, youtube and bebo. There was a great example of this on youtube with the “will it blend” series of viral videos. Search for “will it blend” on youtube to see what I mean!

An important point to remember is that branding yourself and your home based business doesn’t mean calling your business YOUR name. I know quite a few people who have done this in the past before realising that they want to sell the business later - and nobody wants to buy it as ‘their name’ so it holds less value.
