Why bother with a home business credit card ? Well…..from a tax and accounting perspective it is important to separate your personal income from your business income.

This also applies if you have multiple businesses. Keep a separate set of accounts for each business.

Once you have separate accounts setup, accounting for all the revenue and costs for your businesses becomes a whole lot easier.

The same applies to your credit card (or cards). Don’t make the mistake of putting your business expenses on a your personal credit card.

Having a separate credit card is handy for any home based internet business. Most of the products for sale online today require a credit card for payment. This especially applies if your advertising with the larger PPC programs link Adwords.

Using the YouTube API and a PHP script you can make a site which displays a collection of YouTube videos. Great for displaying videos about a niche and as a way of adding extra value to your readers.

Here is an example of a video site about Learn Buddhism

There is documentation on the YouTube site to explain how to do it, but unless you have a good feel for PHP or another scripting language, then your unlikely to crack the code.

Google search doesn’t yield immediate results for complete scripts. There is some partial information but again some programming skills are required to effect a working site.

A little while ago WordPress 2.3 came out, so I decided to attempt the Wordpress 2.3 upgrade on a few of my blogs.

There are a number of features I wanted to try out and we have a policy of always keeping to the latest version.

With this release there are also a number of new features that looked interesting including:

  • Tagging support which allows tags as well as categories to be allocated to posts.
  • Upgrade notification of plugin and Wordpress upgrades. Not so worried about WordPress as this is well publicised but getting notified about plugin upgrades is really useful
  • URLs have been tweaked to make them cleaner for search engines
  • WYSIWYG editor has more features.
