One of the neatest forms of advertising I’ve seen in a long time is on bathroom paper towels. I saw this in Germany last year and was really impressed.

I don’t agree with that article at all. I just can’t imagine people obsessing over a website name written on a car enough to actualy get home and check it out. Maybe the’ll just get familiar with the name and when the see it again shile surfing the interbet they might think “wait a minute, I know this name from somewhere, let’s see what’s that all about”.

Yeah, i can second the window marker idea. I use that one now and from what I can tell it works pretty good. At least for local stuff.

It really depends on your business and if you are targeting a local or national area. “Beating the bushes” and word of mouth are the best ways to promote a local business. Please don’t forget your local Craigs List as it is a powerful tool to use locally. On the national level nothing beats the Internet!

Yes I believe using window markers is a good strategy. One of the locals here had a website that works like ebay. The guy just placed the marker at the back of his car. Now, he’s site is doing good. Besides, he had a good website name that is not hard to remember. Now people go to this website to buy potential buyers and sellers. However, the challenge is how to make it catchy. For sure when its flashy, people will remember it even without writing down the site.

I like the idea of writing your web site domain on the currency. The number of people it passes through is staggering. Too bad it’s illegal. The bumper sticker idea sounds like it might make for good advertising as well. Of course the easiest and most reliable method is to simply by targeted advertising.

There’s certainly no harm in trying out window markers but it’s not something to rely on. Unless you design a very catchy or clever sticky then it’ll probably just bring in a couple of customers over time. It is certainly cheap and easy to try though.
