Home Staging, also known as House Fluffing, is a growing trend, and a must in today’s market. Realtors are not going to spend the neccessary time with homeowners regarding paint colors, decluttering, and all other aspects of preparing a home for sale. This is where a home stager’s skills come into play, to create a welcoming environment to attract the most potential buyers to sell fast and for more money. To answer your question, it’ll help to get certified in Home Staging. I went to QC Design school where I earned my IRSP certificate. They’ll help you every step of the way, even after you’ve finished their courses. I live in a tourist town and let me tell you, homes are being bought and sold all the time. I know of at least 3 home stagers. They are busy even today. Slow market or not, homes need to look good to sell.

Looks like that will be a job area in decline now that the bubble has burst. It was a very profitable gig for the past few years, but looks like it will become much more niche now.
