Want to participate in a Technorati favorites exchange ? Then read on…..

I have been a member of Technorati for some time. I often use it to track who is linking to this blog, to find other blogs in a similar niche, to get a view of what searches are popular at any given time and just for general research. This is one of those sites I’ve grown to like a lot. I guess Google would call it an authority site.

Among other things, Technorati “ranks” each blog by incoming links and by how many times the blog has been “favorited”. Favoriting is very similar to using an RSS reader to track latest posts on a blog. When you favorite a blog you can automatically see the latest posts.

Other sites like ( e.g Text Link Ads, ReviewMe! ) use the Technorati information as part of their ranking scripts.

Technorati itself publishes a list of top 100 blogs by popularity (links) and also favorites.

So you can see that improving rankings at Technorati is a useful way to improve traffic and presence for your blog.

DoshDosh a blog about helping you make money online (another site I always read) has started a Technorati favourites exchange. To participate you just exchange favourites with all the other participants and over time your Technorati ranking will naturally increase.

Feels like a pretty good idea so, I am going to do the same here.

If you wish to exchange Technorati favorites with this blog, just follow the simple steps below. They are almost exactly the same as those at DoshDosh

1. Participate by Simply Exchanging Favorites

This is fastest way to participate the exchange program.

  • Favorite my blog by clicking here and using the tags “home business” or “home based business”. Then please leave your Technorati username as well as a similar link to your blog in a comment below.
  • My Technorati nickname is bwp58 and I will favorite all the links as soon as possible (Please allow for timezones – I live in New Zealand). I won’t leave any confirmation comments as this will clog up the comment section.
  • Check to see who has favorited your blog and do also let me know if I’ve left you out after 48 hours.

2. Link to this blog post with your Post on Technorati Favorites

This is only for those who wish to hold Technorati exchanges on their blog also. These are the steps you need to take:

  • Create a post on your blog announcing that you are exchanging Technorati favorites. Prominently include a link to this post to indicate that there is a similar exchange going on at Home Based Business and also at Dosh Dosh.
  • Feel free to use use any link text you want. But please make a new post on this topic instead of putting the link in a old post that is already deep in your archives.
  • Get a Link Back. Once I’ve noticed the link via trackback or Technorati, I’ll include a link to your post on Technorati favorites in this post itself so readers here can visit your blog to participate if they want to. I will also try to periodically highlight this post so it never gets lost in the archives.
  • Links will usually be put up pretty quickly but if you didn’t see your link up after a day or two, please feel free to send me an email.
