As part of the promotion of a number of my sites, I have  been thinking about buying some domains with traffic. This is an alternative to traditional web based advertising and provide ongoing “free” which in turn generates some income from product sales or advertising.

The other day I received an email from the Rich Neigbor about their domain investment course and after reading the promotion page decided to buy the course.

There are a number of ways to make money with domains. You can:

  • Buy existing domains with traffic. “Park” them and make money off pay perclick advertising
  • Buy domains that are expiring then re-sell them 
  • Buy domains or existing sites, develop them, then sell them on to someone else.
  • And all combinations in between
I was looking for an all round guide to the domaining industry.

The Rich Neighbour course costs $49.95 and has been good value for money.

The course is about 40 pages long, written in an easy to follow manner and  provided a very good starting point from which to base my first purchase.

With past ebooks I’ve purchased, some of the techniques, links or material has been out of date. Meaning I’ve just bought a bunch of information which is outdated and while it may have worked a year ago doesnt now.

This hasnt been the case with this material. All the tools and sites mentioned are still there. The domain valuation methods will always work. The recommended background checks and tips are still current.

The domain industry is super competitive. You are competeing for lots professionals for the most lucritive domains. From my perpsective some of the prices being asked  are way too high to be worth the money.

I have quite a conservative approach to this type of investment. So have been looking for a couple of weeks for my first purchase. Because I’m not prepared to pay any more than 12 months earnings and  will probably be looking for a bit more before the right opportunity presents itself.

However I am using the tools and techniques provided in the course and feel they have provided me a good starting point in my search.

For me, the course has been good value for money and I’d recommed it if you have any interest in buying some domains in the future.
