Nicole from Business.gov wrote to tell me about the US Government Business Resources they have on their site. If you are based in the US, and have your own business, this is a site worth bookmarking.

Business.gov is a site designed to help businesses save time and money by providing a portal to business laws, government regulations, forms and agency contacts.

The site has the backing over 21 Government Agencies and is managed by the US Small Business Administration.

On the site you will find small business guides, state & local guides, a business search engine, a License + Permit finder, Government Agency Contacts along with Government forms and Faqs.

They have also created The Business.gov Toolkit which a “gadget” that you can place on your website or iGoogle homepage, giving access to many online tools and resources to help you run your small business.

With the toolkit you can:

  • Search for information, forms, and contacts from federal, state and local governments
  • Find topics of current interest to the United States small business community
  • Get a listing of licenses and permits that apply to your business
  • Watch videos featuring expert advice from successful entrepreneurs and small business owners

I’ve placed a copy below so you can see it in action. The Gadget can be downloaded or added to your iGoogle page by going here or by clicking the Google icon under the gadget.
